Significant 2007 Achievements

  • Re-branding — In January 2007, in an effort to better market the organization, The Council went through an extensive re-branding exercise. This exercise consisted of a new logo and colors for the organization, which is now being recognized as The Council – RMMSDC. From the beginning, the Executive Task Force Committee realized the importance of strengthening the use of minority-owned businesses to stimulate Colorado’s economic growth.
  • Increased Certification – RMMSDC is continuously certifying minority businesses in New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The council has made a significant impact in these states as it pertains to assisting minority business become more active in all the activities of the council.
  • Expanded Corporate Base – The council has expanded its corporate industry base to include the following industries; oil and gas, gaming, sports entertainment, ski resorts, and retail. These corporations are Shell Oil, Ameristar Casinos, Kroenke Sports Enterprises, IntraWest and Macy’s.
